I haven't done much macro lately because every time I do it I get frustrated. I decided to give it a go today at the prarie and got a couple I liked. These aren't all "macro" but oh well.

Hey Nick............. Love them bugs boy iloveyou.gif
They are all lovely shots, but you know me, once there's bugs involved they trigger my senses and often get me in WOW Mode rolleyes1.gif ....they really can enhance a shot ....... nice work Nick ..... Skippy (Australia)

Thanks Skippy, I thought you might like these. Are you still in the States or back to Australia? I hope you get a chance to post some of your critters you found on your trip. I don't envy you the number of shots you have to go through. Hope all is well and thanks for looking!

I managed to get sick in USA, so came home ill.....and then got hit with a wrotten head cold that just doesn't want to leave me........maybe the shock of coming home to such cold weather ? and I'm back working 7 days a week already rolleyes1.gif ...... I've managed to sift through heaps of shots, and convert them from RAW.... I'm slowly editing them now and hopefully next week I will have a few to post :D take care...... Skippy (Australia)

I like this shot too, Nick. I think it has nice composition, pretty lighting, lovely background, and a less-than-perfect daisy making it just right!!!! thumb.gif

Thank you Boogie. The hoverfly is only one shot out of 15 that I took of it that came out nice. I'm just not stable enough when I'm bent over or in weird positions to get the focus right. The DOF is so small and the bugs never seem to sit still. Oh well, it gets me out of the house to new places, I can't really complain. I just have to practice more.

I used the Canon 200 f/2.8L on the first two shots and the Canon 100 f/2.8 Macro on the three bug shots. The 100 macro is a great lens but all of the macro lenses by Canon, Sigma, and Tamron are really pretty good. I've been thinking of trading in the Canon 100 for a Sigma 180 Macro. We'll see. Thanks for looking!
