Question about Gallery link

I've never noticed this before, but something caught my eye today with regards to a Gallery link.
When I click on the Share Photos link at the bottom of any photo, I am presented with the "Flaunt your Photos" page with a Gallery link, a Slideshow link and a several single photo links.
This is an example of a gallery link:

It was always my assumption that the gallery link is a link to the gallery, not a particular photo in the gallery. Well I was wrong. I just tested this today by moving the photo to a different gallery and when I used the same link, I went to the new gallery. (I have since moved it back). I assume that if I were to delete the photo, the link would be broken even though the gallery still exists.
Isn't this a little misleading. To me, a link to a gallery should be a link to the gallery, and it shouldn't matter if I move or delete photos within that gallery.
From now on, I'll just make sure to delete the photo number in the gallery link so I won't have to worry about this:

What got me thinking about this is today a co-worker sent a link to one of galleries to someone else, and he sent the link which included the photo number.
Please don't think I'm suggesting you change the fact that the first link follows the photo - it should. I just think that when you view the "Flaunt your photos" page, the Gallery link should not include the photo number. Or at the very least, give two choices and make it more clear.

This, is gallery link only, and will take the viewer to the gallery, and they'll start on page one.

I understand that now. I guess I'm slow, it just took me awhile to figure it out. My confusion was with the Gallery link that included the photo. Again, I must be the only person that didn't "get" this. My apologies.
I've noticed this too...
Sharing the whole gallery?
Just copy this URL and paste it into email (help) or forums & blogs (help):gallery >http://nickname.smugmug.com/gallery/145##28/1/6#323#19
You are not confused.... the "Share your whole gallery" link does include a photo id and I agree it shouldn't. I always delete the photo reference when copying and pasting this link.
Again, if you move that photo then the gallery link follows the photo. And I assume that if the photo is deleted, the link is broken. That's not how I expect a Gallery link to work.
Andy, can you point me to the place in the Help pages that specifically advises me that I have to delete the photo portion of the gallery link to form a true gallery link. Maybe I just missed it.
