About ready to purchase a couple more CF cards and would like info from users of San disk Extreme lll and lexar pro (80x) Cards....

1-Which card do you prefer and why??

2-Have any of your cards failed?

3-How old were they when they failed?

4-How was the manufactureers customer service?

Thanks for the help.

1 - I've been using SanDisk Extreme II (not III) cards.
    2 - No failures yet.
    3 - N/A
    4 - N/A

I've had two 1 Gig cards since November 2004. I'll probably purchase Extreme IIIs if I ever feel the need for more space.

    Thanks for the help.

    1-Lexar 40x and 80x 1GB and 2GB Professional Cards.

    2-One 40x 1GB card failed.

3-It was pretty new, but it was my fault. I pulled it out of the card reader before it was safe to do so.

4-I e-mailed Lexar, sent in the card, they sent me a knew one, with another jump drive. Paid for shipping the card there, nothing more.

I have not had a problem since, and have used the cards over, and over, and over........ :D

    Sandisk III 4GB and Lexar 80x 2GB.

I'm sure there's a difference, but whatever it is isn't significant enough to affect my shooting or editing.

FWIW I've had problems with Lexar cards in the past. As a result, I no longer delete shots in-camera. No problems since.

I'll buy whichever of these brands has the lower price. I'm in the market for another 4 GB (damn 5D files are huge.)

Looks like I should see no difference whether using a SAn Disk ll or my Lexar Pro 80X's in 2 or 4 gb....

I have had great customer servie with Lexar, except forthe last time the guy in INdia or Pakistan, just could not understand my american englsih and it took 3 days to get someone on the phone in the California offices that spoke and understood my english...then I was oevernighted a replacement with a return label for the bad one......

I have also seen the San Disk cards cheaper than the Lexar's at different times....

Thanks for all the responses..I truly do appreciate them.
