Don't you think it lacks detail in the hair and sharpness in the face ?
    Good lighting ...

    I like it much better.
Now, I feel it transmits the personality of the model.
    Nice work indeed ...

The Gorman job looks good but I'd take the eyes down a little bit - they are whiter that white and IMO look just a little too white for the rest of the photo

    andy-

    thanks for looking and commenting-

don't believe I did any post processing-

you think I ought to do some post unprocessing-

gee, I'd hate to think I had to go backwards on the eyes--have you had anybody have to tone 'em down?-

    andy-

my apologies-looking closer, I had worked on the eyes-

(guess I was looking at the wrong version)-

here is a version without any direct pp on the eyes-

thanks for commenting and being so observant!-

also posted with the pic with pp eyes for comparison-

I see that Gorman is mentioned alot on this thread and I love his work. I know he has a tutorial about his BW conversion on his website but I wanted to also say that there is a BW action on atncentral.com for this as well. Go to downloads on home page and scroll down under BW Conversions. I apologize if this has been mentioned on here before but did not come across it yet and wanted to post it for anyone that is interested.

You are welcome George. I haven't tried to manually convert a picture with his technique but would be interested in taking one pic and converting with his instructions and then convert the same pic using the action to compare. May try this in my spare time.
