Any thoughts about these??

I've been taking pictures of tree bark.... got these this morning... the only thing I've done to both of them is cropping...

Any thoughts?

    I like the 1.st shot very much for the colours, the shapes and the lack of depth of field ...

    The first shot works very well, because even though the DOF is shallow, there are areas that are very sharp. The colors and lighting are both nice. The second shot does not work so well mainly because everything seems to be slightly OOF and there are no areas of sharp detail. The colors are nice, you might try to reshoot. :D

    Number 1 definately.... give it a bit of oomph in photoshop and it will come up a cracker! (not that I could give you any tips on how to do that! sorry! )
