Looks like you were a little distance from them. I was lucky last year when I was able to work my way fairly near some seals at Bean Hollow. Here are two shots that I got. They can be kinda funny. They will swin near you watching you all the time, and if you point the camera at them they will dive under water.

I like the last one it shows a beatiful beach for sure and it's funny in my twisted sense of humor
caption 1 - they fought till last man and died as best they could :wow
