Photo of the week communitiy.

I am not sure where to put this...


I am interested in starting a photo of the day sort of journal gallery. My friend at school gave me the idea, she has been doing it for some time at http://www.pbase.com/ccraft/pad I just graduated from photo school and now want to start something similar to this idea. I looked for a photo community to join but didn't find any existing groups so I created one at http://www.smugmug.com/community/Photo-of-the-Week

(As a side note I am never good at these sort of things. Reliability and creativity don't usually march to the same beat so I decided to make this a weekly endeavour. See you there if interested.)




Also I guess the question remains: are there any established PotD communities on smugmug?

Great idea that'll keep you shooting regulary! Check out our Daily Photos community which should be exactly what you were looking for. Don't be scared by the 'daily' part - try it for yourself and if you can't keep it up it doesn't matter. It's about that you've fun doing it!

First you've to join the community using the link right of the community title:
DailyPhotos community maintained by SebastianHosche | join community

Then you can associate a gallery to the community in your gallery customizations at the bottom.

Well, I knew that already.

So, I far as I understand, my albuns are in the community X or Y and I do not control which will appear or not ...
Fair enought.

I'm not sure I understand what exactly you mean. Do you say that you've associated an album with the community, but it doesn't show up?
Have you set your album settings like I've done it in the attached screenshot? If you did so, check that the gallery isn't private - then it won't show up in the community.
