fireworks

Im going to be out over a lake for the 4th on a boat, I have a canon rebel xt. What is the best setting to capture fireworks??? Stock lens :(

    Boat? :nono

    I'd find some land, setup a tripod and use a remote shutter release because you will need that for the setting called BULB in your shutter speeds. That way you can capture a couple bursts and release the shutter without having camera shake. May want to lock the mirror up as well.

    While these might not be the "best" settings, they seemed to work for me. You will definitely need to be on stable land with a tripod, mirror lockup is a good idea and so is a cable release.
