That -white thing with wings- is called a "Snowy Egret" or sometimes called a "Great white egret".
Well done Steve!
Thanks for sharing.

I agree, you did good Steve. But Dick, a Snowy Egret and a Great Egret are two different birds. An easy way to tell them apart is that a Snowy Egret has a black beak and a Great Egret has a yellow beak.

Actually the "Snowy egret" and the "great <white> egret are two different birds. The Great Egret is much larger than the "snowy" and lacks the bright YELLOW feet. The beak of the great egret is also yellow and the snowy's is black. Both have yellow behind their beack (around their eye). This will change during mating season.
Here is some info if you are really interested.

There is also a cattle egret that is rather common......and from a distance can easily be confused for a "snowy"

Like a Gull is not a Tern and a Crocodile not a aligator, so is the Great -white- Egret not equal to the Snowy Egret.
Well...next time I say what it is and don't mention what it is called by some unless I be clear about it.
