I totally understand why you are happy with the first one... sometimes it's not a matter of everything being just perfect... it's a matter of catching the mood.. the moment... the look.... and you've done that..... It's a terrific shot!
The second set is nice too... would look great hanging in the baby's room....

to be honest, not too keen on the second because it looks like it's more about big bird than the baby-
I would prefer another portrait pic of the baby and all three images the same size-
also, a little simple framing around all three inidividual pics with some framing for the triptych-
for what its worth, my thoughts alone-

George - I'm still an idiot when it comes to photoshop, and trying to figure out how to put frames around each photo and then one around the whole lot is a bit beyond me .... yes - I know - I have a lot of learning! But I agree they need frames.
Thanks again ....

as far as I am concerned, no idiots here, although, there can be some a--holes-
got to start somewhere-
kelby's book on photoshop is a good one to start with-
and the ps shenanigans is a good place to look, search and ask questions-
and there are some pretty good tutorials here-
please feel free to ask away-
usually someone will respond and help, if they can-
