Hi folks :wave

Been lurkin' around these parts for a while. A nice shiny 20D arrived in the post a few days ago, so now I have something to post...
Unfortunately, it arrived on the same day I spent nearly two hours in the butcher*coughcough*dentist's chair to having a wisdom tooth out, so I haven't been in much mood to run about shooting as I'd like to :sick

Yesterday I went to the stables to try and take my mind off my pain (from the jaw) and suffering (from the sitting at home all day). Took nearly 400 shots, kept just over 100. Edited a few to show you.

Sorry, no birds! Click ye no longer on the thumbnails, yer lazy bunch :thumb Click for EXIF data instead :bad

Always looking for for comments/crits/outright abuse, so don't worry about feeling too sorry for me :crazy

I can, from the same site in fact. How many people have problems with thumbnails? I figure they're good 'cause:
    • I can post as many pics as I like without having to worry about people with slow connections
    • People with slow connections can see how big the files are
    • Thumbnails avoid bandwidth issues
    • I can probably think of other reasons, but my point's been made. mwink.gif
I'm happy to link directly to the big pics if people want me to though. I live to serve and serve to please.bowdown.gif

Welocme to Dgrin and congrats on your new camera. We love to see larger versions of the shots in your post. You will find us to be a very lazy lot. We hate any extra mouse clicks. :D

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Rectified, the situation is.

Rectum-ified, the situation may be, if bandwidth, we exceed. Let me know if they start showing pretty little red x's or such.eek7.gif

Doubtful (each one's got 100MB/hr) but would be good to know if it's happening.

    Welcome!

Congrats with your new equipment. You surely know how to frame a horse. Well done on all of them.

    Thanks for sharing.

    welcome m'lord (:D )

I have to say, "shake it" made me Laughing.gif and the caption "getting no where fast" really added to that pic. Lookin' forwards to more.

    cheers,

    C.

    harry's right!-

always glad to see a doggie or a horsie here-

    plenty of birds already-

instead of 'nature and wildlife' it ought to be called 'birds and more birds'-

(I'm probably being snide because I'm jealous and can't shoot the critters)-

See? Now that's the sort of attitude we like. :cool

Thanks for looking guys. I can do doggies too! I shall have to. There are rather a lot of birds in this forum.

Dick- cheers for the admiration. Most of them were cropped to look better.

Frog Lady- I was amused by "Shake It" too. Very glad it turned out usable. The sunlight was very harsh at the time (mid-afternoon), which made things....interesting.

More to come tomorrow; need to sleep now, so I can get up early and go shoot before it's too hot to. 9496500-Ti.gif

    More Horsies!
    leadahorsetowatercopy2ow.jpg

Again, click for EXIF data mwink.gif

This was one of my favourites from the afternoon, mainly because what you see is pretty much straight from the camera - all I did in PS was set the black point (which did very little) and add borders etc. No cropping, no curves.

    Unlike this one, for example:
