Well, Hope you are not getting sick and tired of all the Yosemite Shots.

Here is something from the day I arrived at the park. In May 2005 I spotted that Bridalveil Fall creates a rainbow at the base of the fall and slowly creeps upwards as the sun moves.
I did not get the exact shot I wanted that year so I tried again. This time I arrived before the rainbow occured so I had time to set things up.
I zoomed in to the base of the fall where the water was crashing on the rocks behind the treeline. Then the rainbow became visible in the mist.
For all of you that do not know what ROY G BIV is? It is a abbreviation of all the colors of a rainbow from a science class experiment when you pass white light through a prism.

it's not the classic rainbow I expected, but it's a neat shot in its own right. It's interesting how the colors are all diffuse - it almost looks PS'ed.

    cool,

Eric, I wasn't suggesting you did any color enhancing PS, just that the scene, w/o the classic relatively distinct regions between the rainbow colors looked like it was something that could have been done in PS (I guess that makes Mother Nature the 1st graphic artist :D )

Wonderful shot. You should contact the gift shop in Yosemite to see if they are interested in selling it as a poster or postcard.

What do you find so objectionable about the frame? I'm curious because I have often wrestled with whether or not to frame pics when showing them on the web. This one looks like a simple, classic matte. I kinda like it.

    Great shot btw!
