definitely a swallow of the genus tachycineta. green on the head indicates tree swallow but white around the eye opens the door to violet-green swallow. that's as close as my bird books will get you. great looking guy.

Dallas I think you're right with the Violet-Green Swallow. Excellent catch Ed. I was sure the only way I'd see a little bird from you was if it was sitting on top of a bear . I like your composition, keeping the entire branch it was sitting on.
