A friend of mine asked me to shoot some portraits of her and her boyfriend. I agreed to do a photo shoot for them - wasn't sure if the old FZ10 would be 100% up for the job and damn its a lot harder than I thought it would be. I went for a relaxed, candid style shots and I'd like you opinion on whether these are any good - all comments more than welcome. All pics at ISo 50/100, in full manual mode, Mode 2 IS, some minor USM and conversion to B&W.

For me, #6 is the best of a nice set. It is the one that communicates that they are together. The others are nice, but there is a separation, an emotional distance between them. #6 captures their feelings for each other.

Those are really nice! I really like the heavy contrast in the B&W's. Couples can be hard to do.

    I Love #5 and really like #6.

You know, the hardest time I have with posing people (especially couples) is convincing them that they need an almost un-natural physical proximity to one another for the pictures. That normal "personal space" thing emits a sense of distance in photos.

    Thanks for sharing your pics!

now these two are great (not that the others aren't - but YKWIM!?)
These make the couple seem a lot more relaxed, and they seem to be enjoying themselves and unposed. Great captures!

Hi kate - thanks for the critique. I know what you mean about these two being better than the originla set as they both look very relaxed and at ease.

Bye the way I finally managed to work out what YKWIM!? means... 1drink.gif
