My friend Jen had to do a project for a summer class she is taking (she's a music major but needs some science credits in order to finish in 4 years). She has to do a presentation for her science class about something she did to give back to the environment. She decided to do a short "lesson" with kids on how to take care of plants and asked me to take photos for her presentation.

I took nearly 200 and there are many more than these I would like to show, however, seventeen is quite a few for a post as it is. These are a few photos from today that I'd like to share.

This is the first situation with which I've used my two day old SB800 flash.

The kids were very well behaved - despite it being summer; who wants to learn during summer?

Beautifully lit, I don't detect the "usual" signs of a flash. Did you diffuse? Did you bounce?

    LOVE the saturation!

I am moderately unhappy with my SB-600, not because of the flash but because I was led to believe that I could use it as a remote flash with my D-50. Well; yes I can, if I have an SB-800 attached to the camera as the commander. AHH!!!!

Thank you, guys. I appreciate it. I used flash on most of my shots, even outside, as the sun - while not hot - was directly above and offered unhappy shadows.

Bakat: I tried to bounce, but only with the small pop-out thing that comes on the flash. I agree with you about the wireless, as I am interested in that also (that means I would have to pay another several hundred dollars just to have a master and slave), but I am still happy with it. A little fill in the right spots makes a big difference; and it makes it soooo much easier to take water drop photos.
