A quick introduction.
I Emailed an old forum friend (Harryb) last March when I bought my new camera becuase I couldn't find him on dpreview . . . he Emailed me back that he was hanging out on Digital Grin. Well it took me three months to get around to joining . . . and no I am not always that slow . . . well maybe that's up for individual interpretation. Harry and I used to converse on the Sony Forum when we both had F717s.
Now I have graduated to a DSLR, Nikon D50. Even have a few cheap lenses, 18-55mm, 70-300mm G, and a 50mm F/1.8. Better lenses will have to come later, current budget and expenses, what with my Daughter getting married this month.
I like this photo taken with my cheap 70-300mm lens, F/11, 270mm, 1/1000 sec, ISO 200, and I used my old SunPak 383 for fill and to try and help freeze the little fellows wings.
I was rather pleased with this picture since so many members on that other forum told me what a piece of manure this lens was.
I guess the only thing left to say is, "Hi guys, I'm the new guy on the street."

Great seeing you over here. I'm sure you will see lots of familiar names from the old STF crowd.
Good picture too.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Brooks,
a lot of dgrinners used to hang out at STF.
"Those were the days.."
We grew up, changed our gear, and realized that a one-brand forum can be too tight..
Here at dgrin you'll find all the best features of the "old tyme stf", but without trolls or brand-obsessed pricks.. Also, it's pretty much broadband accross the board, so you don't have to squeeze your piccies to the size of a matchbox, or ask permission to post more than one hi-res picture :
Once again, welcome aboard, I'm sure you will like it here!
Cheers!
