A nice start. I have found that using a flash is a great help. It helps freeze some of the motion. I would definitely try and get in closer – I was somewhat surprised to see you were at 400mm. This shot was at 300mm,Manual,1/500, F/11. Without the flash he would have been blurred. This little fellow was playing hide-and-seek, every time I was about to take his picture he went behing the house trim.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
