    Hmmm...from things I've read and seen (on Animal Planet) this snake is a poisonous pit viper!!! Hope it was shot from behind some glass...Yikes! Good capture of a tongue flicker (faster than an eye blink!)~

    this was the first shot i took with my new 200 macro and it is a rattler but you see my buddy Angelo the last time out did not like the snakes to much [this is in the wild ] so i know when he saw this ---it blurred rolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gifthumb.gifand thank you for compliment :D but I did get closer than i thought i would with the 200 eek7.gif

    Well, I guess the snake WAS shot from behind some glass...your 200 macro lens, that is! But yeepers, Jeff...that's a bit too close for comfort for shooting a rattler. Looks like he was "tasting" your presence and deciding which direction to strike in!!! Hope you wear thick, high riding hiking boots when you go tromping around in tall grass with rattlesnakes!!! Yipes!!!
