I live a block from the hospital, so I hear these come and go all the time, but this one sounds different. I've only seen it a few times.

I had time for 3 shots, and the second was in the trees (vantage wise, not that they hit the trees). They were taking off, low and fast.

Manual exposure, ISO 200, f2.8 (Canon 70-200mm, "L", but not IS), 1/1600 sec. I was more worried about the forward motion, and I only had a little time to prepare.

Actually, I should have gone RAW because the scene was so wide in latitude. I had to build a really goofy looking Curve in PS to manage the highlights at all.

    Thanks,

I was able to track the helicopter by its numbers (N136MF) and found some more images here (not mine of course):

Also a sister helicopter, the N135MF (previously the N135QC), has even more photos, showing the interior etc.

Hi Ziggy, our Lab is directly across the street from 2 Hospitals and we see those huge Choppers come in and out quite a lot...... they have a couple that are bigger than the one in your shot, boy you can sure hear those things coming in for a landing, but what an awesome sight to see one come in ......
