I photograph at some local soccer fields and the last few times I've gone, I continue to get covered in these tiny red bugs that fly - and bite! Hard! (well, at least for their size!:D) They are so small, that you can't see them without looking very close at your skin. They're about the size of 2-3 hairs. Even worse - they fly.

Any ideas what they are? :dunno I'll try to get a picture this weekend but that would look pretty silly! :rofl :huh

Thanks!

sounds close - thanks for the link. I checked out a few articles and found a few things that didn't match up - once the "noseeums" or "biting midge" bite, that area will begin to itch within a few hours and last for days to weeks. Also, it looks like their in the alabama area.

These guys bite - but no after effects. Also, I mentioned that they were red in color but after shooting this weekend and noticed that they are more of a skin color.

    Thanks! I hate these things!
