Taken in my backyard about a month ago. This is the first growing season I have lived in Colorado and the plants I keep finding in my backyard keep amazing me. This is Colorado's state flower:

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks all. The flower itself is a mystery to me. It typically grows in the higher alt-- high ranges. There the wind is always whipping around, you can gt snow, sleet, ice, hail. And crazy enough you can get mutliple colors on the same plant. I love it-- it is a very hardy plant. Perfect for these dry places.

    What a lovely flower!!!
