I will be entering my work in the local fair here in Canfield, Ohio, and I need some assistance in picking a piece to enter in the "Picteresque" category which is set to cover "broad view of a landscape, waterscape, cityscape."
The work is to be matted and framed with glass or plexiglass.
They did not give judging criteria.
I've given my comments on what I think, but it's my work and personal, so I need someone else to see the forest through the trees for me. Any comments in addition to voting would be appreciated also.
Thank you for taking the time to help.

I like this shot. It's pretty with great color saturation and clouds reflecting beautifully in the water that also function as leading lines, but I also see it as a "right place, right time, get the exposure right," kind of shot. Maybe I'm wrong?
#2
A planned shot. The bench angle, leaves on the bench, color, everything. I like the comp, but it tends to have a little too much dead space for me now?

Here's a great forest through the trees issue!:D I'm really hung up on this shot because I got what I planned and saw in my head even before getting to this area to shoot it. I wanted depth, shadows, and a bright sun focal point that doesn't really act as a focal point but it's light is what draws attention to everything else. Maybe I'm not seeing flaws or weaknesses compared to the other photos?

Another personal favorite. However I'm biased towards playing with extreme light and the outcome. I took many shots to get to this one. I wanted the greens, blues, and the saturation with a bright light just hidden with no harsh shadows.

But, I actually voted for #2. To me, it's the best "framer" and the one that I think would have the broadest appeal to judges who do not disclose thier judging criteria.
Good luck!

...and bunches of Canon lenses - I'm equipment rich and dollar poor!
I think they're all awesome pics - #2 and #3 being my favorite. But, your description says "BROAD VIEW of....". IMO, the only broad view shots are #1, and #3 - #2 is right on the line but the focus IS on the bench.
So, I vote for #3!
Great job on these!!!

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
what can be wrong...
p.s. obviously all are great....

Regards,
I vote for #1. I think it fits the category of "broad view" where as the others do not. There might be "a nasty speck of sensor dust" on the water in the foreground -in about the bottom 1/8 and just right of center.
Again all awesome shots.
