Hunting the Great White...Part I
Unlike Harry's Florida, egrets are not so easy to find in my neck of the woods, and when you do, they're usually just out of range for a decent shot. Nevertheless, when the bug bites, I head to the local watering hole hoping that I'll find one of the blue herons or the single egret that frequent this pond in residence that day...
When I arrived, no egret. But I did see some other local denizens....
Mr. Robin was perched in a tree...
A tree swallow was chirping away...
A green heron was sitting on the heron log...
A female red-winged blackbird was enjoying the colors of the day...
A painted turtle was sunning himself...
And a kingfisher was doing his thing...
But no egret. So i decided to walk around the lake on the off chance that something was lurking where i couldn't see. As I crept silently along - always trying to sneak up on whatever wild creature usually flees at the sound of my shutter....i got a glimpse...
Stay tuned for Part II....Regards...Keith

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
wait for part II. you'll get your daily dose of egrets.
