Sigma 300mm or Nikon 300mm VR

:clap I'm stuck! Between the Sigma 300mm 2.8 and the Nikon 300mm 2.8 VR. I've been studying both of these lense on the internet and I'm confuse:scratch big time. Some say the Sigma isn't that sharp. Help please with picture results. Thanks.

Just to add to your difficulty, you might consider the Sigma 120 - 300 f2.8.

A rather nice, compact lens.

I'll see if I can dig up a few frames with it that Nightingale let me capture with it.
