Thanks "Andy" great links...which leads me into...
After buying my first digital SLR last week (to replace my Bronica 645) I have had the camera out on paying assignments and really like the product...on advice from the folks on this board I purchased a EF24-105 F4L IS USM...and I really like it...also the first zoom I have ever bought after 40 years as a working shooter.
As an example my entery into the current photo challenge was taken while waiting for the sun got into a better place for the shoot...there was some red flowers close by and they had bees all over them.
The image was taken with my new 24-105 and is only a small portion out of the center of the image...what all this is leading up to is buying a fun lens for the 5D...and it will be a Macro. There only seems to be one "L" series Canon macro...the one below
EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro Ultrasonic
I could not find a write up on it except from a Canon.
The advice from this board was to buy the 5D and use the savings to get best lenses...I could have bought the 1D...I think that was the one...the one that is about 15% better images... but I never have to blow much past 11x14...most of my work is 8x10 5x7.
This is getting into a bit of a ramble sorry...
Finally the question...is there anything better than this lens that would work on the 5D...as I said before this will be a play lens, as I would never use it for paying work...but it would have to be hurtingly sharp...the lab I am affiliated with we have some wonderful big printers...and I want to do some huge nacro for the store interior.
