I knew this little girl was there, but . . .
I just couldn't find her out in the open. But at dusk when I went to fill my Hummingbird feeders, so my birds would have breakfast, I looked down and there she was. By the time I got my camera and threw on a close-up filter, it was just about dark. I barely had enough to see her in the view finder, thank heaven for AF. Well enough now, here she is in all her splendor.
A bit of Levels, don't know that it helps.
I put a +2 and a +4 on and got about as close as I care to get, she has a mean bite.
If she comes out to play tomorrow at dusk, I'll be all set up and maybe I can do a little better.
You'd thin that after all these years I would have learned how to spell, but no. I am always rediting to correct spelling.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
I like the background, too.
Did I miss it? What kind of spider is she? I only know the word, "spider".:):
ginger
She is a Black Widow, a very healthy looking one at that, and she doesn't look like she has missed very many meals.
I was bitten by one about twenty years ago. I was bitten just above the elbow, and with in a couple of days my arm all the way down to my fingers was swollen. My fingers were so swollen that I could not bend them and the skin was cracked and peeling. I still have a scar from that encounter. What's the old saying? Once bitten. twice shy?
I was close enough on the last photo to be touching her web. They attack their prey when they feel vibrations in the web's strands. Being blind they can't tell a hand from something edible that has gotten caught in their web.
