Wishing we had stayed longer in Zion, I lagged behind on one of the hikes so I could get some Macro shots :rolleyes yeah I know the Scenery was just gorgeous, but I really wanted to get a couple of shots during the trip :D

I love my Canon 100mm Macro Lens :lust these were shot with Kenko Ext's added and an External Flash.

Enjoy........... Skippy (Australia)

Very nice Skippy. I deleted all my shots of these little flowers, they were sub par. You managed very well. Nice work.

Wow, what great color in that first shot!

This is why it's so cool when you see the work of many shooters from the same place. Different people see different things in exactly the same locale. Me, I'd never had made that shot, would never even have thought about it.

    Very nice! thumb.gif

I really like the lighting especially on the second one -it has an almost "magical" look to it! :):

Hi Greaper, the tiny flowers we saw were so pretty, I'm sure a lot of folks didn't even notice them, but us Macro folks are always looking at the ground, and me I'm always looking for bugs rolleyes1.gif thanks for looking.

Thank you Dalantech......... I have a Canon 580 Flash that I use 99% of the time when I do Macro's, it will often give me a dark back ground which I really like, and this tiny flower obsorbed the light from the flash quite nicely on this particular day....... Skippy (Australia)

You did what I kept thinking about Skippy. I was really surprised at the variety of flowers at Zion. I also think I liked Zion better than Bryce. I'm definitely glad we went to both but if I'm ever in the area again I'll definitey go back to Zion. The only flower shots I took were with the 17-40, surprisingly it has a very small minimum focusing distance and some of the shots came out pretty well.

Well time was what we didn't have on our side hu Nick......Zion was my favourite of the two places too, but I really did enjoy the Post ShootOut, especially in the Arches area, and Monument Valley, ohhhhh and man those Antelope Canyons were just stunning.

Trying to cram so much into so few days, and trying to cope with time zone changes and extreme temps, and lack of sleep...... I dunno how we accomplished what we did rolleyes1.gif I wished I'd had the time to spend doing more Macro's too........ Take Care...... Skippy (Australia)
