Islamic Music Festival - Kew Gardens

Last Sunday there was an Islamic Music Festival in Kew Gardens as part of the Music Village Cross Cultural event.

There were musicians from throughout the Muslim World & the artists were fantastic. It was a lovely sunny day, but very hot. It was great chilling out listening to some beautiful and amazing music.

This guy was part of Angam Al-Rafidain from Bagdad

This is Rani Khanam, a Kathak Dancer & top pupil of Pundit Birju Maharaj the best Kathak dancer in the world. Kathak is a form of spiritual dance.

A member of the Said Guissi's Aissawa troupe from Morocco. The trumpet he is playing was about 5' long!

This girl was part of the Sultan Mehmet Faith Ensemble from Bosnia. She was a very talented violinist.

    No one went there from Pakistan
    In Pakistan there was only 1 true musician "Nusrat Fateh Ali khan" his work can be heared in background of "Last temptation of christ" sad he died his voice and Alap moves sole

    There was actually someone from Pakistan but I didn't see them as I had to leave. There was someone called Mehr Ali & Sher Ali from Faisalabad. Have you heard of them?
