Holy Moly! a Baldie!
was out at a watering hole near oakland new jersey (kinda on the way home) and got a couple of real nice swif's - swans in flight (one of them below)...when I thought my eyes were playing tricks in the distance...what a thrill to see a bald eagle in summer this far south - very very unusual as far as i can tell.
Here's the swannee...
and here's the baldie - which looks to be a 2 year or so juvenile because he still had a few white feathers underneath. Unfortunately, he never flew close to me, the light was terrrible (bad overcast) and it was getting late - but here's what I saw...all photos with 400mm f5.6 and 1.4tc attached...handheld....

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
all are keepers - well done!!

it was quite a thrill to see the baldy at this location. I've seen a few up the hudson river in january/february (peak eagle spotting season- but dress warm!) -- but never anywhere else...
