Hi :)

I'm new to DG and smugmug. In the process of trying to get my domain name actually working and transferring my images over.

Thought I would post some samples of my zoo photography.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Fantastic use of light here. The mood you set is amazing.
I like all of them but #2 and #3 really stand out for me. The use of negative space in #3 is superb. I look forward to seeing more of your work.thumb.gif

Wonderful expressions! Love number 3 though the animal looks very sad. Are you using some sort of light painting software in these like Auto FX Mystical Lighting? Very nicely done!

Very beautiful, excellent light and composition. My only thought is that they look a little over sharpened. thumb.gifthumb.gifthumb.gif

Thank you everyone for the comments :)

They have all had different PP'ing.

Number one - was a while ago so I have kind of forgotten, but I think it was mostly dodging/burning, some slight blur and a sepia tone put over it.

Number two - Is mostly the sepia tint with some blur, dodging/burning, sharpening and selective contrast on the eyes.

Number three - that was taken monotone on the 30D, sharpened and some burning on the cave.

Number four - Same as number two

Number five - also taken in monotone on the 30D, some selective sharpening/doging/burning/contrast. Mostly all done while still in raw.

All taken with the Canon 70-300 IS, some on the 350D, some on the 30D.

The lens is a lot better on the 30D I feel....the AF REALLY is a lot better!
