Firefox plus Java

OK, I needed Java................so I tried to install Firefox like Andy told me to do a long time ago.

Why? What does one have to do with the other? I am not computer literate............I am just trying things. I need both, thought one might solve the problem.

Since Windows XP (which is genuine, I just fixed that), since it won't let me install firefox and Explorer does not, it says, support Java, can anyone help me on this?

I don't even know where to post this. Mods please move to the appropriate place.

I don't really understand. Java and Firefox are independent of each other. Java can be hosted by Firefox (or IE).

In what way? Are you not an Administrator or something? What is the error that you get, or what goes wrong?

Sure, Internet Explorer supports Java, you just need to download the runtime from here:

    http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp

(There was a brief time when for ugly political reasons, Java looked like it was going to die on the Windows platform, so you mgiht have got some infromation from that time)

I've got to dash now, but if you have further problems, I'm sure you'll get plenty of help here.

    Hope this helps,

    Luke

    now I get error 1327. Invalid Drive:K:/

then from Java, the info that my "system has not been modified"

In other words, I do not get that bar across the top that lets me do things, that is how I interpret it.

I was trying to upload Java now to IE.
