Some type of Lily
...I would assume. They are growing 4-5 feet above the water and have leaves which are about a foot across. I'll have to look them up when I get home tomorrow. All the photos were taken in the Audubon Swamp Gardens at Magnolia Gardens, Charleston, SC.

This one is still waiting for its coming out party.
...and one normal Lily which is actually on the surface of the pond.
Thanks for looking.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thank you, Tess. I thank the lighting for the colors and the delicacy. It was all natural with no reflectors which I couldn't use anyway because the flowers were all in or over an alligator infested pond. #1 had some sunlight coming in through the branches over head and I just waited until a ray of sunlight was directly on the flower before snapping the shutter. #'s 2 & 3 were backlit from a high sun with the background in the shadows and you can see some of the shadows being cast on a few of the front pedals by the pedals in the rear. #4 is similar to 2 & 3 with the sunlight coming from the right rear. #5 is lit from the right side with a spot of sunlight shinning through the trees onto the flower coming in from the right like a spot from a snoot and the rest of the area being pretty much in the shadows. Then I added some vignetting during the RAW conversion process. ...and patience as I waited for the rays of light coming through the trees to move to light the areas that I wanted highlighted in the photographs.

As always, thanks, Harry. Read my response above to Tess32 concerning the lighting. :
