Lightning Storm

came through tonight so i grabbed my camera and took to the park thats just about a half-mile away from my house.

    did you use a long shutter speed an hope to catch a bolt or did you try your luck on timing? lol. j/k.
    however, you could give some tips and EXIF data on your first shot, it's great.

    great stuff ,,,yes give the lowdown on the first shot ... step on how you captured it ... that is my quest this comming spring is to get a bolt ....

    Oh Daniel, be careful... Soon you will be jumping up and down and cleaning all your lenses every time you see clouds brewing. It's so easy to addicted to chasing "THE" lightning shot.

    You got a direct hit in the first one, perfectly exposed. I know that isn't easy, trust me you should be well pleased with it!clap.gif With a bit of persistance I know you will get lots more.

    I can't wait until it starts warming up here and I can start taking my new tripod out chasing. It's such a rush when you KNOW you got IT!

    You should be seriously happy with the first one. In my neck of the woods, the clouds are so heavy before the storm ever starts that there is no hope of getting an image of a strike. I'm more than just a little envious!

    Scott..what about its bum ? Some of the best lightning i have seen is ejected from the rear after the main body has passed. I dont know how your storms operate but with ours ...20-30 mins is a long storm (many only last 5-10 mins) with the lightning starting way before it arrives & lasting long after it has passed.
