Very special shot! Excellent in many ways to a specific audience, or on a specific subject. I mean if Stats Canada were doing an article on home accidents this shot would be fantastic! The dangerous element, the banana peel in color, and the rest B&W, really works well for this purpose! The dangerous element is also lit up as opposed to the darker surroundings. The photo illustrates the danger very visually and clearly. The angle projects a sense of someone already beginning to slip.

But I'm not sure it would work well with a general audience. Do you understand what I mean?
This is a difficult challenge. Each of us has things at home very special to him/her, but the question is how do convey these things to everyone else? I don't know - haven't found the answer yet.

I like this shot alot. Awesome use of the available light. Im assuming that is light coming in through a window. I have to agree with Nir also though. What fits with this challenge? I have tended to produce shots for past challenges that did not exactly fit to the challenge theme in alot of peoples minds, but for the situation I am in the represented the theme perfectly. I had no problems with them not winning or not getting picked as finalists because I knew that to me they were great. I liked them. You should love this shot because it is awesome. If it was me I would have no problem entering this shot into the challenge. Great work. Why not try for some more shots around the house. I would love to see what you come up with.

I love this shot!! The lighting, the angles, the composition, the sharpness of the shoe vs. the softness of the floor and banana peel. It is great.

However, I do not know if this can be entered in this challenge as is because of the "No PhotoShop" stipulation. I am assuming the banana peel was masked then color removed from the rest of the photo. I hope I am wrong and the photo can be entered as I think it is a possible winner.

    Nice work! bowdown.gif

Thanks for all the comments folks. Yall are probably right about the selective desat being a rules violation.(I just saw the contest subject and snapped and posted a shot and read the rules later) Doh!

Here is another one, that for sure meets the no photo shop qualifications .
