AND fortunately, if you ever get hungry, there's a hot dog stand on every corner:
Anyone want a 'pretzet?' :)

Hahahaha I'm familiar with that very hot dog stand that you photographed. Also, yeah metro is great. Sure there are always broken escalators and broken trains and delays, but in the end it's still better (and cheaper) than trying to drive to work if you work in downtown DC.

Wow. Some very nice images and unique angles. I have yet to see D.C. but it is on my list. How long were you there?

I liked your collection of photos. It brought back memories for me when I was there in 1999. Was the Supreme Court Building an IR photo?

Thanks for sharing! I currently live right outside of DC and it really is an awesome place to take pictures. We were there this weekend, in fact, taking pictures in less obvious places. And in true form there were a MILLION hot dog stands this weekend. :D

    answers to questions:
actually, the supreme court photo is not an IR photo - it's just a really contrast-y black and white. I severly changed the sky color before converting it. if it were in color it would look completely unrealistic.

we were there for 6 full days and that was plenty. for me, I don't like being a tourist too much, so 6 days was plenty in my opinion to see most of everything you wanted and even more. if you want any tips that I can give for getting around or restaraunts that we ate at, you can ask them here or PM me.

and yes, there were book in the library....but only in the main reading room, where there were like...3 people in there, because only members of congress, the supreme court, and their staff can get books. go figure. most of the JEfferson building (which is pictured) was just decoration, there were like...4 other building, I think....and supposedly those have books - I guess I'll take their word for it? :D

and yes, anyone who has not taken a trip to DC, it is a must. even if you think well, I've seen all the pictures I could possible want of all of monuments, and you don't want to hassle with crowds or whatnot...
pictures can do no justice to the monuments, there's nothing like being there yourself and seeing it come to life. MAKE SURE you get to go to the top of the washington monument, see the national gallery of art even if you aren't a fan of fine art - it's amazing what's in there, so many originals - that was one of my FAVORITE places. get to the supreme court building before 4:30, because we got there are 4:37 and they were closed....:(

okay - well, if you have any questions I'll answer them!!!

Really nice pictures, not snapshots. You've got a good eye and a good hand with processing.
Lord, keep my words sweet. Someday, I may have to eat them.
