Firefox checkbox setting hides buttons

Hi all,
First post, with hopefully something of value. I couldn't find this in the forum but it may be there. Here's what my problem was, the solution, and a request.
Am viewing a gallery using Firefox (v1.5.0.4) and click on "multiple photos" to see them all in a table view. In the box above the images, the buttons ("Back", "Select All", "Unselect All", and "To Cart") are NOT visible.

Solution: Go to TOOLS on Firefox's menu bar, select Options. Select the "Content" tab and be sure this checkbox in UNCHECKED: "for the originating website only".

Can anyone reply and tell me the equivalent type of setting in Internet Explorer that might hide/show these buttons? I have a couple of clients that have this same problem, and I can't find a solution for them.

THANKS!

Andy, glad I could offer something. Any idea of the equivalent thing in Internet Explorer? I've got a couple of clients that can't use the "multiple photos" screen because of this. I've tried to find something similar and can't.

Thanks for any help you or anyone can offer.

Do you mean, "buy multiple photos?"

Yes. When viewing a gallery, and the user clicks on the "buy multiple photos", the user gets a table view of all the photos in that gallery. But as noted in my original post, the buttons in the "Batch Add" box above the photos are NOT visible if a certain "checkbox" in Firefox is checked.

I have seen the same thing on a user's computer that was running Internet Explorer (sorry, don't know version). I feel pretty certain there's a similar option in IE, but I don't know where to find it. It would have something to do with "loading images from originating site only" or something like that - much like what is in Firefox.

Hope my explanation and comments make sense. I'm quite new to Smugmug, so don't feel comfortable trying to explain things yet.

    THANKS!

    1. Buttons visible in FF 1.5.0.4 and IE6.

    2. Can't see 'Content' option on FF under tools ?!? ne_nau.gif
Is it an option that an extension has installed ??

Content is a tab in the Preferences dialog box, not on the menu itself. It's a core part of Firefox preferences, not an extension. Haven't seen this option in IE.

Dna, thanks for helping. Please see Colourbox's reply, that reads
"Content is a tab in the Preferences dialog box, not on the menu itself. It's a core part of Firefox preferences, not an extension. Haven't seen this option in IE."

On my FF (v1.5.0.4), I click on TOOLS in the menu bar, then click on OPTIONS which is the last item at the bottom. Across the top of this Options window, there are buttons such as General ; Privacy ; Content ; Tabs ; Downloads ; Advanced. Clicking on the Content button opens a window that shows various checkboxes. There's one that says "Load Images", which I leave checked. If the one under that which reads "for the originating web site only" is UNCHECKED, then that is when the buttons on Smugmug's "buy multiple photos" page are not visible.

So, I've solved the problem for Firefox. But I have a customer using IE that has the same problem. I can't find a similar function (as Colourbox has noted in IE - THANKS COLOURBOX!) There is probably some type of security setting in IE that does something similar, but is called something different.

Again, thanks for the input. Hope this helps.

Do they happen to have Norton Internet Security installed? I bet that is the problem.

JT (and Andy). I'm waiting to hear back from the customer. If it's of any value, I have Norton Internet Security on a system, and am using Firefox, I can change the setting mentioned in a prevous message, and can make the buttons go invisible. So it's not a Norton problem when using Firefox, it's the specific checkbox setting in FF.

Thanks for the help! I'll be in touch when I hear from the customer!

Yes, I am well aware about that specific setting in FF, I brought it up as a potential problem when we discussed moving some images to Amazon.

When I mentioned Norton Internet Security, I was referring to it's integration with IE. IE alone can't block images from a different server than the one you are on unless it has help from another application.

Here is how to edit the ad block portion of NIS:

Just checked the FF install at work and it's default setting was unchecked. So I would assume that Nortons had checked it. They might have some hack to do the same to IE ...
