Hi Y'all,

You might have noticed from my past pics of the rookery that the praent birds don't have it easy. They flyout to get food for the youngsters and when they get home they are basically mugged by 2-4 of their offspring until they cough up the food.

There was this dead tree in the rookery that the parents would often fly to for some needed rest but towards the end of the season when the youngsters had started to fledge that spot did not provide too much rest.

the parent snowy egret has been followed and spotted

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Ric. I didn't expect that last shot to come out. It was the end of day and it had clouded over so I was shooting at much slower shutter speeds than I like. Also it was a bear to expose with the dark parent and the all white fledgling. I was thrilled to get anything usable.

Thanks Awais. They are not kissing. The juveniles are grabbing the parents bill in the hope they can get them to regurgitate some food up.

Tree rats don't bother me, heights I can deal with, and if I was afraid of great photos I would definitely switch to Canon for the ultimate protection against that happening. :lol4
