Really great shots. I particularly like shots 3 & 4. What kind of lens did you use to capture them? Thanks

Awwwwww I want a butterfly in my backyard sooooooooo bad I do eek7.gif
I still have 3 Swan plants growing wonderfully but no sign of butterflies at all...........when Spring comes these plants will probably be as good as they are going to be, but I don't understand why no sign of butterflies ne_nau.gif

I might have to go find somewhere that has the same plant and remove some of the caterpillars and bring them home to my place to get the ball rolling??

Ya lucky guy you, got yourself a Dragonfly too clap.gif good for you :D
    Nice work ........ Skippy (Australia)

Don't get me wrong -I liked the dragons. But this butterfly shot deserves to be printed large and framed! Everything about it works, including the background (most people ignore the background in macro shots -big mistake).

Thanks you Awais and Boogie. I've been processing my shots a little different lately and I think it is working pretty well so far.

First two were with a 400 f/5.6 and the last two were with a 300 f/4IS + Tamron 1.4x TC. Tripod was used on all shots.

Thanks Skippy. I don't have many butterflys near me, I have to drive to get them. There are a couple other species where I shoot but I haven't been able to get them yet.
I neveer know what I am going to get. I went shooting to try and capture some of the prarie birds but I ended up with these instead. I still went home happy.

Thanks for the nice comments. I would have liked the shot to have been less busy but I still like it. You mean people actually print the pictures they takeheadscratch.gif. I have a bunch I want to print out but still haven't gotten around to it. One of these days.

very nice Nickclap.gif I have to agree w/ Boogie about how much the colors POP. While they're all very good, I think the 1st one is my favorite - I like the contrast of the orange in the flutterby w/ the purple in the flowers.

rolleyes1.gif -I'm bad about printing too. What I started doing was printing 8x10s of my best images and then putting them in a photo album so at some point I'll have a book for the coffee table.
