Hi there,

As I'm spending a few weeks in Maine this summer, I brought along my camera and managed to capture a few pictures of Colby College where my course is being held. Very pretty campus located in mid-Maine.

Cheers,
Kevin K.

pretty nice shot. i think if you had waited about 15-30 mins later the color will be much nicer.
just my taste but those leaves on the left and right edges are a little messy there and add nothing to the scene.

    Thanks for looking...
    Hi Phuong,

Thanks for looking and for the comment. I agree, the leaves on either side are not ideal; I hunted and hunted for a spot that would provide an unobstructed view of the campus, but could find none (and from where I took this photo, if I zoomed in I would have lost the reflection of the building in the water). Sometimes, you just have to take what you've got and be happy. Incidentally, I did wait and take shots a bit later on in the evening, until the swarms of mosquitos (must be the state bird) practically carried me away. Here's one of the later photos...

    Wolfies...
Thanks Wolfies! I do love to take photos around the Blue hour, but for some reason I like the first picture more - just my personal preference thumb.gif Looked at your website and think you've got some wonderful pictures too, especially the ones of the Oregon coast.

    Cheers,

So did I. The sky has just enough gradient to not feel blown out.

Just clone out those unruly branches!
