KingBird? ID please

Hiya! Mostly curiosity on these - I looked it up and I think it's a kingbird. They were feeding off of some sort of hatch over the Housatonic, in West Cornwall CT.

Couldn't get any closer.:dunno (a bit oof i suppose and my lens sux =] )

and in flight, the white on the tail feathers is what I'm basing my id on but I don't see the yellowish crown... is it only there during breeding?

    thumb.gif They look like the Eastern Kingbird to me. I don't seem to recall them having a yellowish crown at any life stage though.

    cool. that's what I thought.

    I saw the yellow mohawk like stripe out of a real old field guide.
    is now gone. i have no time for cliques and fan clubs.
