Well I haven't had much to post in here lately, been doing mostly macro stuff. I did get a decent shot of two finches the other day. Not sure if it is really post worthy but I'll throw it up here anyway. We'll call this an environment shot, in other words it shows the environment around the birds because I couldn't get any closer :uhoh.

I like the soft muted yellows and greens in the shot Nick. This is very nice.

Nightingale and I see house finches around our feeders frequently.

Small birds are well, small. They require long glass and getting as close as possible. A blind can be a bigger help for small birds than real long glass. A lot cheaper too!!thumb.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks for looking Jim. I haven't seen many this year but lately it seems like they are either more active or I'm just looking in the right places because I am seeing them everywhere. What I would really like to get a shot of is an Eastern Bluebird that I have seen the last couple times at the prarie. That would be nice but as you stated, small birds are small, and these are really small.

I love environmental bird shots and this is a really pretty one, Nick. I love the colors and the lighting. It's amazing to see the delicate flower stems they are perched on which shows how light these little birds really are. thumb.gif
