I'm working on a few other concepts but so far I've not been able to get a good capture. So far this is the best I've got.

This is more like a splash.
A turbulence is a state of mind or physical where things get around...
Difficult as I am not a man of litteratures...
No hard feelings OK ?
A tornado is good example.
Of course there can be turbulence with sand - get your camera with dust - with dancing the tango.
Ye ! great ideia. The turbulence of the skirt. Yes. That's it !
See the skirts around blurred, round ?
Under a fantastic light ? Lots of colors ?
Well, with these tips you are going to win and I am going to loose. :cry

Got a new one to add to the mix. Now I'm torn.
The smoke from the cigarette doesn't look disturbed, in trouble somehow...
Tip: The turbulense of smoke caused by a fan.
if the smoke was undisturbed it would be one thin wisp. Your understanding of the concept might be skewed.
Or turbulented... :

rosselliot - I used a bit of trickery. I had the cig on a paperclip that was bent to position the cig. I stuck it into a large candle that was out of frame. The whole thing was shot against a black backdrop using only natural light. I then PS'd the image using seperate layers to adjust the smoke and the cig and remove the paperclip as well as any of the backdrop details that were visible.
