Took this shot outside an old mining town (Johnsville) in the northern sierras.

I also found an old mine shaft:

This is about as far as I ventured in (which is actually at the rock in the lower right corner in the 2nd picture - ok, technically I didn't venture in to the shaft at all:rolleyes).

Thanx for looking. Comments and critiques always welcomed. Kevin.

Give the first one some pop and it could be quite stunning. :)

Shot #1 is beautiful! I really like it! I wonder what a tighter shot might have looked like...

Thanks for posting them - Michael

I agree, some crop and pop. Maybe crop out the foliage on the right hand side since the pine(?) on the left is nice.

    Beautiful waterfall!

My wifes great grandfather had a gold mine, literally, in that region. Her great grandma when she was alive, used to have Foldger coffee cans full of big nuggets.eek7.gif

He died suddenly and no one knew where he kept his personal stash. He was rather a simple man (as far as wanting material things go) but he had everything he wanted, so the family thinks there was a LOT stashed away - so somewhere up in those hills... =]
is now gone. i have no time for cliques and fan clubs.
