Need help with Id of bird.
Does anybody know what this bird is? I was thinking maybe a Western Wood-Pewee. It does have a slight crest, the coloring looks about right. The location is So. California (San Diego County) and my chart says that the Western Wood-Pewee is found here.

No pencil marks visible on that fence.
When I saw it I thought Pheobe or Flycatcher. Has the shape and markings

The Black Phoebe is described thusly
- Black head, breast, back, wings and tail
- White belly and undertail coverts
- Lacks wing bars
This bird doesn’t have that much black and it definitely has wing bars.Great crested flycatcher Myiarchus crinitus is described as
- Gray throat and breast
- Yellow underparts
- Brownish-olive upperparts
- Pale wing bars and tertial edges
- Brown tail with rust edges
And that doesn’t fit either.Too dark for a Rufous-collared Sparrow.
The picture on this site is very close, as is the recorded song.
