400mm f/5.6 macro?

here's a couple of close-ups taken with my 400 f/5.6. Can't exactly get too close, but it is a sharp lens, even handheld...

    Will that lens except a ext. tub to get closer ?

    Yep,one of my now favorite macro lenses.I use it more than the 180L.

    I think so...
    but i've never tried. these shots were at the close focus limit of the lens and slightly cropped - the limit i think is somewhere around 13 feet. (I should know, but i'm too lazy to look it up...)

    for the kind comments. I had to find something to do with the lens while i was waiting for the bald eagle to return...

    (and that could be a loooong wait...)
