I recently posted in News & Events (HERE) because I just found out I'm a finalist for an annual contest with over 20,000 entries! Unfortunatly, I submitted ~10 images and I don't know which one made it through!

Frog Lady suggested that I should post the images and see which one Dgrin picks. Hope you enjoy, and C&C is always appreciated! I can't find the info on what I submitted, but I think these are the ones::dunno

Many of them are very good. I had to look them over several time to pick just one. And that one is....

    #6.

The deep deep blue of the sky striking against the colors and textures of the rocks made this one stand out for me.

Believe me it was hard to choose one!

OK - since I instigated this, I guess I better chime in :D

They're all very nice Kevin and very different. While there were several that stood out, I liked #4 w/ the turning leaving against the orange lichen covered rock and #9 of the silouette of the tree trunk, but I think I have to agree w/ JamieC that #3 is the best. I like the mood captured by the dramatic sky.

    good luck,

    C.

Wow! Thank you all for your comments!!! It's interesting to see the difference in everyones tastes.

FYI - all but two where taken in the Bakersfield, CA area. I moved here three years ago and it's been a struggle to find anything to shoot!!umph.gif

    Thank you again!

    Thanks Retro!

Thank you Allensphoto! Let me know if you remember where - I can't find it!rolleyes1.gif I know it's on the Kern River but I've searched for it a few times with no luck. :cry

They need to come out with a camera that has GPS built in and records it in the exif - now that would be COOL!

    6 is it for me
I really like number 6 although most all of them are awesome. Something about the softness of the blue sky against the harsh jagged rock make it one of those contast things that really moves me. For me that is what everything is all about contrast, black next to white, and as this one, soft next to hard. Let us know which one the "real" judges picked.

Hard to choose from this bunch but I agree with some of the others...#6 is the best one to me.

You should setup the vote function for this thread.

Rosselliot - Thank you! #10 is one of my wife's favorites. I don't really like itrolleyes1.gif . It's so funny to see how everyones tastes differ.

As for the boats (Morro Bay), the printed version didn't have spots...I just got lazy when posting.:D

I forgot to answer your questions!:D Below is a link to the contest. It's a yearly contest and as far as I know, you can submit an unlimited amount but it costs $2.95 per entry...which I thought was pretty reasonable.ne_nau.gif
