20d, 50mm f1.4 ISO 400

I used to have a 50mm Carl Zeiss f1.4 on my first Praktica as a teenager and have never had a better lens since then. Of course the 1.6x factor makes it more of a portrait lens than a 'standard' one.

    Thanks, Nir. Here's another I took yesterday. I'm really liking this lens, though the depth of field when it's wide open is so short!

    I also had a look at your gallery and I really like the shots you have of staff at the hospital, especially the birth of the baby....

    50 == bliss!
    Hi Danny!

    First of all, congrats for your excellent shots with your 50mm f/1.4! :-)

    I have to agree with you completely, regarding this particular lens. I just bought me a 50mm f/1.4 (however, mine is the Nikon version) and I'm having a great time with it.

    This particular lens is great because it unleashes the low light potential of DSLRs and it's *incredibly* sharp when shot a little stopped down. Even though you're more geared than I am (the fifty is my second lens, first was the kit one), I won't be surprised if it becomes one of your favourites. :-)

    Thanks for sharing!

    Take care!

    Hi Danny, These are really great shots! I've got a 50mm 1.8, but haven't played around with it much. I should start taking more photos if my pics can come out like these. Thanks for sharing...
