Some from my trip to CO -5pics
Was in Mancos (between Durango and Cortez)for a couple of days. Left everyone sleeping in the hotel one morning and went off in search of critters that we don't have in NJ. Was pretty lucky.
There was a group of 13 in my cousin's hay field
This guy was perched on a glove that was left on a fence post
And this was his lady
This one was singing up a storm, then decided to stretch
There were crickets everywhere - this guy was working pest control
Hope you enjoy!

Did you use the 70-300 DO IS lens on this one?
It just looks like the kind of OOF background I get with mine.
I really like this one in particular. Too bad the birds head wasn't turned a little to the right so we could see his head better. Even so....NICE.

Thanks Dick. You're generous to always comment.
These are among my favorites too
Thanks Ric!
Sorry I should have posted the equipment info. I shot these with the Canon 100-400 IS L.
I LOVE this lens and rarely take it off my camera. (Canon 20D)
I do have one shot with the birds head in profile, but the cricket does not show as much. iny, menie, miny...
Thanks Awais! :

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
