Hanging high in the air...

I took this at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk while riding in a little cabin about 50 feet in the air. I thought the beach's texture was nice, so I decided to play with the curves a bit. Here's the final product:

And here's the link for the way I would have "normally" post-processed it:

I think I have some MAJOR dust on the sensor... :wxwax

I agree with your choice of images. The posted one so much better shows the texture of the sand. The deeper color really adds a lot of punch to the photo. And, the composition seems to work well for me! Nice shot!

They have chairlifts at the beach? headscratch.gif

I like your high-contrast treatment of the image - very artsy and modern thumb.gif

Neat. Almost looks like suncupped snow from a ski lift.

Wow ... good eye. I like the color and texture ... but (the big but) I'd slightly burn in the hot spot in the middle-right (on my monitor it look a bit hot).

Very cool shot! I would never have recognized this as beach sand....looks more like a dried-out lake or river! The shot looks really good on my monitor. I like the way it goes from dark around the perimeter to very light (but not entirely burnt out) in the center.
