:cry They've only got one leg! Poor little fellas... :hurt

These are my first shots of these kinds (?) of herons - they stand very still for a second there I thought they were decoys or models.

I don't know if this is an albino canada good or some other kind... it was hanging out with all the normal coloured canada geese...

Thanks for sharing these shots with us Brett. thumb.gif Those first shots are of a black crowned night heron. The one that is multi colored varigated is a juvenile BCNH. I'm not saying those birds are not missing a leg..but often times these birds perch on a single leg while hiding their 2nd leg up into their feathers. This often times looks like they don't have both legs. If you watch them long enough you eventually see them put the 2nd leg down. It's like magic.:D It is also not out of the question for these birds to lose a leg. You see this more often with sea gulls though.

I was just being funny with the one leg comment. :D I'm pretty sure they all had two, but all my shots except the last couple had them on one leg.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
